Overview

India’s first-of-its-kind agriculture data exchange, a collaboration of the Government of Telangana, IISc Bengaluru, and the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution India, enabling secure, standardised, consent-based sharing of agricultural data between farmers, agri-tech companies, government agencies, financial institutions, and researchers.

Market advisory: daily Telangana agriculture market prices for all commodities across markets, used by farmers and agri-tech apps.

Credit access: financial institutions using farmer/farmland records to assess creditworthiness and streamline loan disbursal.

Pest-prediction advisory: AgTechs using ADeX-sourced data to alert farmers to pest risks.

Precision irrigation planning: data-driven recommendations based on soil-health and weather factors.

Data / Datasets Available

Farmer and farmland records, crop and equipment details, daily market-price data, weather and satellite imagery, and DiCRA (crop-residue) datasets. Initially deployed in Khammam district in Phase I, with statewide expansion underway; access is via registered agri-application developers and approved institutions.

Our Role

CDPG led architecture and platform development and deployment as part of the Telangana-IISc-WEF C4IR India collaboration that created and launched ADeX.

Impact

Live in Telangana since August 2023; recognised as India’s first agricultural data exchange and the reference model for subsequent state-level exchanges like MahaAgX.
