The collaboration will combine ONESTRUCTION\u2019s&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in construction data with&nbsp;DataKaveri\u2019s&nbsp;data exchange capabilities to support urban planners with high-quality, accessible, and interoperable data for more informed decision-making.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><br><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MoU was signed at IISc Bengaluru in the presence of representatives from Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and India\u2019s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on the sidelines of the inaugural Japan-India AI Strategic Dialogue, a bilateral government initiative to advance cooperation in artificial intelligence and data infrastructure.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><br><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Construction and infrastructure data&nbsp;represent&nbsp;one of the least&nbsp;digitised&nbsp;and most siloed datasets in urban environments globally. While&nbsp;openBIM&nbsp;standards such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) have advanced data interoperability within the construction project lifecycle, the infrastructure&nbsp;required&nbsp;to govern, exchange, and&nbsp;utilise&nbsp;that data at city and national scale has&nbsp;remained&nbsp;underdeveloped.&nbsp;Much of this data \u2014 including floor plans, utility layouts, and asset histories \u2014 is lost or inaccessible once a construction project closes.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ONESTRUCTION&nbsp;specialises&nbsp;in&nbsp;openBIM&nbsp;and&nbsp;Data\u00d7AI\u00d7Construction workflows.&nbsp;Its&nbsp;OpenAEC&nbsp;Suite platform&nbsp;is built&nbsp;around IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), a globally&nbsp;recognised&nbsp;open data standard that&nbsp;organises&nbsp;construction-related data into a consistent, interoperable format \u2014 making it accessible across different software tools and stakeholders throughout a project&#8217;s entire lifecycle.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DataKaveri&nbsp;provides the Intelligent Universal Data Exchange (IUDX), already deployed across 55 smart cities in India, covering urban mobility, utilities, environment, and public services. The platform enables city data to be shared securely across&nbsp;organisational&nbsp;and national boundaries, with privacy controls \u2014 including confidential compute and secure enclaves \u2014 that allow AI models to process sensitive data without any party losing ownership.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two&nbsp;organisations&nbsp;provide complementary solutions to the same problem: structuring construction data and enabling it to be shared and used at scale.
