Privacy, ethics and trust are the fundamental tenants of future systems empowering our society. At CDPG, we are pioneering privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), including differential privacy, federated learning, and secure data sharing frameworks, to ensure that the rights of every individual are protected while unlocking the potential of data at scale.<\/p>

CDPG is working on a multi-year, multi-university R&D project, in collaboration with IITB, IIITB, and CDAC to build an open-source framework that will ensure that privacy technologies are not an afterthought, rather foundational to how future systems are built, deployed and scaled.<\/p>

Our interdisciplinary team broadly works in the areas of performing fundamental research towards privacy technologies, building robust system engineering stacks to bring technology to a mature and usable state, and demonstrating novel use-cases that illustrate the significance of these technologies for future systems. We actively contribute to the open-source community and collaborate with multiple state governments, industry, and civil society. We are seeking an experienced engineer (3\u20136 years) to lead the design and development of a robust orchestration layer for Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), including Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Federated Learning (FL), and Homomorphic Encryption (HE).<\/p>

This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, applied cryptography, and distributed systems, and requires ownership of the end-to-end system lifecycle of the platform, from architecture design to deployment and evolution. You will play a critical role in translating cutting-edge privacy research into production-ready, scalable infrastructure, addressing the current fragmentation of PET solutions and enabling unified, real-world deployments.<\/p>

We are looking for a systems thinker, with the ability to reason across layers (application, infrastructure, and privacy\/security guarantees), with a builder mindset.   • System Architecture and Design \u2013 Design and implement a modular orchestration layer integrating multiple PETs (TEE, MPC, FL, HE).<\/li>\n \t
  • End-to-End Ownership \u2013 Lead the system architecture design, implementation, deployment and scaling. Own the integration with existing data exchange architectures, security data flows, trust boundaries.<\/li>\n \t
  • Orchestration and Integration – Integrate open-source and proprietary PET frameworks into a unified platform, addressing real-world constraints such as latency, cost, and interoperability.<\/li>\n \t
  • Technical Leadership and Vision \u2013 Drive architectural decisions and technical direction for PET infrastructure, translating evolving research into practical system designs. Identify emerging paradigms and orchestration models within the PET community.<\/li>\n \t
  • Mentorship – Work cross-functionally with research, product, and infrastructure teams. Mentor junior engineers on secure system design.<\/li>\n \t\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering or related discipline<\/li>\n \t
    • 3\u20135 years of experience in backend systems, distributed systems, or platform engineering.<\/li>\n \t
    • Demonstrable experience in building systems driven by security and privacy constraints.<\/li>\n \t
    • Familiarity with at least a few topics from secure systems, cryptography, privacy enhancing technologies, distributed systems<\/li>\n \t
    • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, or Java).<\/li>\n \t
    • Experience designing scalable, production-grade systems.<\/li>\n \t\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
